The improvement works were undertaken whilst the building remained occupied and operational. To allow the tenants to maintain their daily activities business unhindered, our site team engaged in regular and frequent dialogue to ensure all parties were fully appraised of ongoing and forthcoming works and that there was no disruption to critical business operations.
We minimised disruption to public and local transport through out-of-hours working, which was instrumental in the installation of a vital scaffold bridge
over the reception area to build a further nine storeys of scaffold.
To undertake works safely we constructed insulated, clean hoardings and secured floors and soffits providing the minimum of working space for our
operations on the scaffolded side externally. We worked on two vertical strips concurrently so that the extent of hoarding was limited and this ensured
maximum possible daylight for office occupants and minimum loss of floor space.
Clegg’s extensive knowledge of the area was instrumental to the delivery of this project, which saw the company working within a tightly constrained, high-traffic area of Leeds city centre.
