Design & Build

This scheme saw the build of a 118 bedroom Premier Inn and 46 residential units.

Undertaken for clients Wilson Bowden and Premier Inn, the hotel utilises a timber frame to accommodate the bedrooms in a gross internal area of 4,057m2 (43,670ft2) and 46 unit residential building complete with basement car parking and associated external works.
The ground floor includes reception area, staff accommodation, restaurant and bar areas.
This site was logistically challenging due to it being bounded by Full St, Grade II Listed Magistrate Courts and the River Derwent.

Minimising disruption

The project required careful consideration of neighbours and local road users to ensure that inconvenience was  minimised and health and safety never compromised. Our successful approach included:

  • Early engagement with stakeholders to ensure design is bespoke to requirements

  • Safe delivery including secure segregation of site

  • Traffic management and delivery plans

  • Programming work to minimise disruption

  • Local community liaison through meetings, newletters, posters, webcams, site visits

  • Registration with, and strict observance of, the Considerate Constructors Scheme
