Center Parcs - Various works

Design & Build

We enjoy a successful partnership with Center Parcs having delivered over £60 million of work together across three of the five UK villages in recent years.

Elveden Forest, Suffolk - Project Horizon

After the main holiday village was destroyed by fire, we rose to the challenge to re-build the facility within a 44 week programme, managing up to 400 workers on site with a £1million spend per week.

This ambitious project saw us work to achieve Center Parcs’ target to re-open before their busy summer holiday period. Works included the rebuilding of a subtropical swimming paradise, aerobics and fitness areas, changing room facilities, bowling alley, racquet sports facilities, restaurants and pubs, kitchen facilities, retail outlets, daytime and evening entertainment facilities, conference facilities as well as public realm works including stream bridges, seating across the park, large decorative stones and landscapes, paving and works to the internal tropical pool area.

On completion of the works, Don Camilleri, Director at Center Parcs commented: “I am pleased to confirm that the performance of Clegg Construction Limited on the project they have carried out for Centre Parcs at Elveden has been very good in terms of programme, budget, quality and safety. They have integrated well with the design team and have been very helpful in problem solving by lateral thinking and by having a willingness to deal with matters on an open book basis.”

ELVEDEN FOREST, SUFFOLK - Project Peacock

This project comprised numerous phases of refurbishment to existing retail and restaurant facilities and public realm works within the complex.

We converted an existing place of worship to provide a coffee shop environment with external seating areas, constructed with timber decking and balustrades located and constructed to fit in with the existing wooded location.

We also striped out two existing retail sports and swimwear outlets involving new shop fronts, internal alterations and new M&E services, as well extensions to retail outlets and the conversion of existing spa facilities into a hair and beauty outlet.

Public realm works comprised the removal of an existing mock Italian Square restaurant setting and creation of a new open air dining location in the village centre as well as the extension of an existing coffee shop to encompass external café style experience with paving, landscaping and external structures for Starbucks.

Longleat Forest, Wiltshire - EMERGENCY DOME REPAIRS

We undertook emergency roof repairs at the Longleat Forest Village to the dome above the pool areas. We employer IRATA accredited rope access speciliasts to inspect glulam and ETFE components in order to effect repairs. These works, in addition to Project Peacock in Suffolk, were carried out within a fully operational holiday village in the main public areas.

Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire - DOME REPLACEMENT & RAFT RIDE

We have also repaired and replaced a glulam roof above the Sub Tropical Swimming Paradise and have constructed a splash pool and raft ride at Sherwood Forest Holiday Village, Nottinghamshire.
