Cian's journey

Cian joined the Clegg Construction in 2020 after completing A-levels and a brief stint in a customer service role. He began as a construction trainee working on-site at for a year and, whilst getting to know the business and the various different facets of the construction and pre-construction process, became interested in pursuing a role in bid management.

In summer 2021, Cian embarked on a new role as assistant bid manager working out of Clegg’s offices in High Pavement in the Lace Market. Cian is studying towards a BSc Honours in Construction Management at Nottingham Trent University, and has recently passed the third year of his five-year course.

Cian says: “It is exciting seeing a project take shape from tender stage through to contract award through to practical completion and being part of the contractor who has delivered it for our clients.

It’s a fantastic working environment at Clegg; I am grateful to the company for giving me the opportunity to pursue a different role; one that I had never heard of or considered prior to starting my career in the construction industry.”
