Inchcape BMW / Mini

The project took place on a brown field site in Reading adjacent to residences and a local hospital so consideration for neighbours and the local environment were critical in the delivery of the work.

The new site is a multi storey car retail and servicing facility constructed to the highest standards in alignment with the BMW and Mini brand image, attention to detail and the quality of finishes were critical. The dual brand requirement of the project required careful coordination and management of the design process with close cooperation and communication with the client's brand champions by the Clegg management team. A large car storage area supporting both brands was also incorporated into the construction works.

The Clegg site team remained in regular contact with the client and consultant team with regular progress and quality reviews on site as the project evolved. The project timetable was challenging and critical to meet the customer's plans to hold a high profile opening ceremony for the customers and representatives from BMW and Mini.

Integration of client appointed contractors for workshop service equipment, elevators and car lifts was managed by the Clegg team in the role of Principal Contractor for the project.
