Work gets started on second cinnamon care capital scheme

Clegg Construction is pleased to announce it has just been awarded a £4.6million scheme in Bromsgrove for luxury care home provider, Cinnamon Care Capital. Starting on site in August 2016, the project is the construction of en suite rooms and associated facilities such as day rooms, life skills kitchens and supporting functions within the country setting of their existing retirement community at Burcot Grange.

The new buildings have been designed to complement the existing accommodation, an extended country-style Victorian house. The existing home will remain open during our year-long programme; during this time we will implement measures to ensure we minimise disruption in this sensitive and tranquil environment, particularly for residents who may become distressed by noise.

The new facility, designed for residents with specific care needs, including dementia patients, will open in 2017.

This scheme is the second project Clegg Construction is undertaking for Cinnamon Care Capital. Currently on site, Cedar Mews is the new construction of a 73 bed care home in Birstall, Leicestershire. Set to complete in November, the luxury residence offers assisted living care and will provide a range of facilities including a cinema, bar, lounge areas and beauty salons. External facilities for future residents will include dementia friendly gardens, planting areas and sun terraces.

Construction Director Tim Walker comments: “We are delighted our relationship with Cinnamon Care Capital continues. I’d like to praise the site team at Cedar Mews for an excellent build, which has obviously pleased our client for us to be awarded a second scheme.

I know this high standard of workmanship will extend to Burcot Grange - a sensitive project - our site team will work collaboratively with the existing building’s management team to maintain a successful operation.”
