Cardea Community Pavilion

Peterborough
£1.m
Framework

Completed through the EMPA Framework, this scheme provides an exceptional community facility.

Working in partnership with Peterborough City Council and procured through the EMPA Framework, we have just completed The Cardea Community Pavilion, which provides sports changing rooms, an assembly hall, kitchen and meeting room for the local Community at South Stanground,  Peterborough.

Designed with low maintenance and low running costs as a primary driver, the building includes robust construction detailing to changing rooms and energy efficient heating solutions.

The site is located in close proximity to a new village centre and adjacent to a large housing development. In response to this we liaised closely with other contractors to ensure our programme ran smoothly and to minimal disruption to local residents and facilities.

The building is being run by Cardea Community Sports Association who manage the use of the space by local community groups as well as the sports association.

Promoting a true partnership style, we utilised the open book tender mechanism adopted by EMPA, and secured subcontract tenders for the works to reach financial close (Gateway 4).

Supporting local organisations

We were pleased to lend our support to a local organisation who will use the building. We sponsored the Under 11s Park Farm Pumas Football club, with the money going towards a fantastic new kit. The team is delighted with the kit and the building, it gives them a base to be proud of as well as a practical facility to utilise.
