trio of schemes make prestigious awards shortlist

Three Clegg Construction schemes have made the prestigious RICS awards shortlist. The annual awards highlight construction excellence, showcasing innovative and inspirational buildings throughout the UK.

Our schemes, shortlisted for the East Midlands region, include:

This joint venture between the National Skills Academy for Rail and Siemens is a two storey steel framed facility incorporating a mix of composite insulated cladding along with translucent polycarbonate rainscreen cladding which creates a truly unique aesthetic

To formalise its status as one of the top schools in the UK, the school received a new sixth form centre. The building, which is in-keeping with its green surroundings, will accommodate an additional 300 pupils and provide new facilities including 11 classrooms, 6th form communal social area and specialist ICT suite and IT Hub Room

This mixed use scheme includes a new 118 bedroom Premier Inn alongside 48 high quality residential units; all set in the historic Cathedral Quarter of Derby and adjacent to the Derwent River.

Competition in the East Midlands awards was fierce; unfortunately our schemes didn't make it to the national grand final, to be held in London in October.

Ross Crowcroft, Pre-Construction Director, comments on the success: "It's an honour to have our work recognised by such a prestigious organisation, it's always a privilege to be shortlisted for a RICS award but to be shortlisted for three is a real achievement. All the buildings are individual, and their aesthetics really suit the environments they are in. The broad range really highlights Clegg Construction's expertise in delivering high quality schemes in different sectors. I'd like to congratulate the design and construction teams involved in these projects."
