Clegg Construction has started work on a key apartment development in Birmingham – its second in the same street.
The company is undertaking enabling works on a scheme which will create 148 build-to-rent duplexes and apartments at The Lamp Works in Great Hampton Street.
Three commercial spaces will also feature in the Jewellery Quarter development, which is a mix of new-build and conversion.
Pre Construction Director at Clegg Construction, Ross Crowcroft, said: “The Lamp Works is an exciting scheme in an area with a strong heritage and Clegg Construction is very pleased to be taking a key role as this development gets underway.
“This is an area that we are very familiar with, as Clegg Construction has recently delivered Gilders Yard in Great Hampton Street, a conversion and extension of the grade II listed Ashford & Sons industrial workshops into 157 apartments and commercial space.”

Nottingham-based Clegg Construction is working for client Cordia Blackswan on The Lamp Works development, which includes five sensitively-designed new builds reflecting the area’s industrial history, plus improvements to 30-33 Great Hampton Street commercial units.
A range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including 13 affordable homes, will feature in the complex, which was once the site of a brass foundry and furniture works.
